Holland Christian ran in an
invitational on Saturday at Calvin College's Gainey Athletic Complex.
Nathan Schloff ran an even 17:00, one of the best times of anyone on
the day. Luke Peterson followed Schloff with a 17:52, Nate Mulder
followed with an 18:04. Nolan VanderZwaag, Aidan Edmunds, and Ryan
VanAppledorn all finished within 30 seconds of each other after the
18:30 mark. Drew Duncan earned a varsity letter time of 19:30. The
boys finished seventh out of 12 teams.
Kayla Windemuller led the girls—and
all freshmen in HC History—with a personal best 19:25. Maria Kuiper
ran a 20:16 and Saskia Praamsma finished with a 21:40. Margaret
VanWylen, Alyssa Boeve, Tessa VandeWalker, and Katelyn DeWitt all
finished within the next minute. The girls earned sixth place out of
12 teams. The Maroons will be back in action on Wednesday at
Hamilton.
