Holland Christian was ranked eighth in
the state of Michigan this past week. The Maroons proved that
dominance on Monday night against Byron Center. Allyn Anthony and
Mitch DePree both tallied goals in the first eight minutes of the
game. After 20 more minutes of continuous pressure, Jake Kammeraad
placed a penalty kick into the bottom left corner to put the Maroons
up 3-0. Bryce Eggers later added the Maroons' fourth goal of the
half. Holland Christian took a demanding 4-0 lead into halftime.
The Maroons' came out of halftime with
an aggressive, yet conservative mentality. Byron Center added a goal
with just over four minutes left in the game, but Holland Christian
still finished with the 4-1 victory. The Maroons improve to a perfect
3-0 in the OK Green conference and a 9-1-1 overall record. Holland
Christian has a huge in-conference game on Wednesday at Unity. The
Crusaders are currently ranked one place above the Maroons.
