Coming off a 17-day break from the
action, Holland Christian returned on Monday to host Grand Rapids
Christian. The Eagles had control for the majority of the game, but
the Maroons continously fought back and kept the game within reach.
Going into halftime, the score was 30-26 in favor of the Eagles.
In the fourth quarter, Holland
Christian outscored Grand Rapids Christian 18-13. With one minute
remaining in the game, the Maroons cut the deficit to 58-54, but they
ended up falling just short with a final score of 63-57 in favor of
the Eagles. Kyle Steigenga led the team in points with 16. Jared
Dykstra hit all three of the Maroons' three-pointers; Jared Dykstra
finished with 12 points. The Maroons had a collective field goal
percentage of 55%. With this, the Maroons record becomes 2-1. The
Maroons will return to the Civic Center on Friday to host Grandville.
