Holland Christian played their first
conference match of the season on Monday night against Hamilton. Both
teams came out strong to start the game but neither team found the
back of the net. 11 minutes into the second half, Andrew Keizer began
the scoring with a perfectly placed volley that found its way past
the Hawkeye keeper from about 25 yards out. Six minutes later Allyn
Anthony blasted one past the goalie to put the Maroons up 2-0. Josue
Nuñez used his head to score the Maroons' third and final goal of
the day off of a perfect cross from Ben Stump. With this, the Maroons
head into their next conference game with a 6-1-1 record. That game
will be played at Holland on Wednesday, September 10. Kickoff is at
6:45.
