Holland Christian played against the
Dux of Zeeland West on Monday night. Allyn Anthony opened the scoring
five minutes into the game when a 25 yard strike found its way
through the keeper's hands. The Maroons took a small, yet dominant
1-0 lead to the second half.
Anthony scored his second goal of the
game with ten minutes remaining in the game to push the Maroons to a
2-0 victory. Coach DeBoer said following the match, “I thought we
played with good effort. I feel like everybody worked hard but
getting into the final third we weren't able to create a lot of
scoring opportunities.”
Holland Christian's record improves to
10-2-1 overall, 4-1 in the conference. These two teams will rematch
at Zeeland West on October 8. The Maroons will continue conference
play at Hamilton on Wednesday night.
