2014 Boys Soccer September 10 @ Holland

Holland Christian took on their rivals from Holland on Wednesday night. The Dutch struck first with about twenty minutes left in the first half. Andrew Keizer responded with a 20 yard strike that found its way past the Dutch keeper. At halftime, the game was knotted up 1-1. At the 16:25 mark of the second half, Bryce Eggers ripped a long shot from about 30 yards out. The goalie did not handle it properly, allowing Josue Nuñez to finish it to take the 2-1 lead. One minute later, Holland scored off of a set piece to tie the game 2-2. Right as the game was getting interesting, the game got delayed for 30 minutes because of the weather. Holland Christian came out of the delay with enough momentum to score with a minute left in the game off of a Bryce Eggers shot. The game finished with a 3-2 Holland Christian victory. HC improves to a 7-1-1 overall record. The Maroons and the Dutch will rematch on September 29 at Holland Christian. The Maroons will host West Ottawa on Saturday, September 13 at 1:00.
