The
Holland Christian girls soccer team kicked off its season on Tuesday
night against Hudsonville. Just over 18 minutes into the game, Alexi
Zastrow's corner kick curved past the keeper untouched. Six minutes
later, Kristen Marsman headed a Zastrow corner kick into the back of
the net. In the final ten minutes of the first half, Becka Maguire
knocked in two goals to make the score 4-0 at halftime.
Hudsonville
made the score 4-1 with ten minutes remaining in the game. Sadie
VanderLee scored the Maroons' fifth goal of the game by putting one
in the back of the net after a series of successful passes down the
field. Shortly thereafter, the Eagles raced down the field for
another goal. The game ended 5-2 in favor of the Maroons.
Holland
Christian will take a 1-0 record into Thursday's game at Zeeland
East.
