2015 Baseball April 18 @ Wyoming Invitational

The Maroons dominated both offensively and defensively against Kelloggsville in game one of the Wyoming invitational on Saturday. They scored 15 runs on 13 hits before the game was called for mercy after three innings.
The Maroon bats knocked in three runs in the first, five in the second, and seven in the third. Jack Huisman went 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Brandon Riemersma and Spencer Slenk both had two RBIs.
Spencer Brewer and Brandon Dykgraaf threw a combined no-hitter over the three innings. Brewer Struck out all three batters in the second inning.

Holland Christian faced Wyoming in the championship game. Down 3-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning, David Williams hit a 2 RBI double to deep right field to put the Maroons on the board. Williams would eventually round the bases to tie the game at 3-3. Brandon Dykgraaf finished out that big inning with what would prove to be the game-winning RBI single. The Maroons tacked on an insurance run in the fifth inning when Williams plated Mokma with an RBI single to left field.

Williams went 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Spencer Brewer pitched the first four innings and struck out five while Jack Huisman pitched the last three and struck out four. Brewer earned the win and Huisman earned the save.


Holland Christian will host Zeeland East on Monday, April 20.
