The
Maroons played against their conference rivals from Holland on Monday
evening. The Dutch found the back of the net for an early 1-0 lead.
With ten minutes remaining in the first half, Alexi Zastrow placed a
corner kick into the middle where sophomore Abby Koops was there to
head it into the back of the net. The teams went into halftime tied
1-1.
The
second half was dominated by the Maroons but the scoreboard remained
even. The teams went into overtime, twice. With two minutes remaining
in the second overtime, the Maroons had another corner kick. Alexi
played a short give-and-go pass to Kristen Marsman before she ripped
it past the Dutch keeper from the corner of the 18. The time ran out
with the Maroons on top 2-1.
