Coach DeBoer kicked off his second
season as the varsity head coach on Saturday, as the Maroons hosted a
four-team tournament. Competing against Holland Christian were
Covenant Christian, Allendale, and Saugatuck. The match against
Covenant Christian proved to be the most difficult for the Maroons,
but they still came out on top by a score of 2-1. From there, things
only got easier. They defeated Allendale 3-0 to push them into the
championship game. Holland Christian went on to rout Saugatuck 8-0 in
the final, hence taking home the tournament victory. Today's games
push the Maroons to a quick 3-0 start to the season. Holland
Christian's next game will take place on Monday night as they host
their rivals from South Christian.
