Holland Christian returned to Zeeland
on Monday, this time to play against the Zeeland East Chix. The
Maroons loaded the bases in the first inning, but failed to score.
The Chix managed to grab the 7-0 lead after the scoring six runs in
the third inning. In the sixth inning, Landon Brower doubled to deep
left field, which sent Mike Mokma to the plate with two runners in
scoring position. Mokma hit a sacrifice fly to score Nate DeZwaan
from third base for the Maroons' only run of the game. The Chix added
three more runs in the sixth inning, making the final score 10-1.
Landon Brower went 2-3 with a single
and a double. The Maroons combined for four hits and four walks. With
tonight's loss, Holland Christian's record becomes 4-2. Holland
Christian will play a doubleheader at Hamilton tomorrow, April 22,
and then will host Hamilton on Thursday, April 24.
