Christian cheered their way to the Regional competition on Saturday
in Rockford. The Maroons cheered against 11 of the best teams in West
Michigan. In the first round, the girls scored 209.3. The Maroons
followed with a second round score of 186.38. In the third and final
round, the Maroons earned themselves a score of 272, giving them a
total of 659.68. This score would prove to be just short of sending
them to the next stage. Coach Gernaat said following her team's final
performance: “Looking back at the season, the team has come a long
way. We've learned that in order to get where we want to be, we've
got to have three solid rounds! They've worked hard to do that. I
think one of their biggest accomplishments is gaining confidence in
Round 3 especially. We will miss our three seniors, but we are
excited for next season!!”.
