The
Maroons began their postseason on Saturday morning against the
Zeeland West Dux. All nine batters stepped in the batter's box in the
first inning for four runs. David Williams cleared the bases in the
for a three RBI triple. Josh Sterenberg took the next pitch deep
enough to score Williams on a sacrifice fly.
They
scored four more runs in the second inning. York and Mokma both had
RBI base hits, Brewer had a sacrifice fly, and Brower scored on a
wild pitch.
The
game ended in a 13-2 mercy thanks to a five-run fourth inning for the
Maroons.
Brady
Brower led the team with three hits, two runs scored, and one RBI. He
also made four impressive putouts in the infield.
Josh
Sterenberg pitched three innings and earned his fifth win of the
season.
Holland
Christian will play against South Christian on Monday for the
district championship.
