Holland
Christian concluded district play on Monday against South Christian.
Josh York led the Maroons on the mound with five innings, three hits,
six strikeouts, and one earned run. The Maroons gave York enough run
support to give him his sixth win of the season.
Christian
Schut scored on a wild pitch to give the Maroons a 1-0 lead after two
innings. Mike Mokma's two-RBI double over the left fielder's head
extended the lead to 3-0. The Sailors scored a run in the top of the
fourth, but the Maroons responded with six of their own: The first on
an error, the next on Spencer Slenk's base hit, and the next four on
Brady Brower and David Williams' two-RBI hits.
Coby
Curtiss finished with two hits and two runs scored. Brower, Mokma,
and Williams all had a couple RBIs.
The
Maroons will take a 23-8 record into Saturday's regional final at
Hope College against East Grand Rapids. First pitch is scheduled for
1:30.
